Leather is the skin of an animal, and naturally has imperfections resulting from injury to the animal or conditions of nature; dyes, toolings and other kinds of finishing mask these minor imperfections. For some products, where a plain and natural finish is desired, the very highest quality of leather with no imperfections must be used in manufacture. Prices will reflect this, with the result that natural finishes and untooled leathers may not be the least expensive items. Since leather does not always dye uniformly, and hides can differ in their ability to absorb dye, some colors may not be exactly as shown on the website.
We use high quality leathers from the US furniture industry. These leathers are tough and durable. Our products are hand-made in North America by skilled leather artisans using traditional manufacturing methods that, in many cases, have been practiced in their families for generations. These are not the cheap knockoffs, made in Asian sweatshops, that will fall apart in a few months. Our goal is to give you a product you can use and be proud of for many years to come.
