| Measuring for Western Gun Holsters and Gun Belts |

GUN BELTS:
Since Western belts are worn on the High Hip area, you need to measure your hip area at the point where the belt will ride. Here is how to do it:
First, measure your exact waist using a paper tape measure - the kind of tape measure a seamstress uses, which you can find in a sewing kit or at a fabric store. Do not estimate your waist size or rely on your pants size. Measure OVER your trousers and belt loops WITHOUT A BELT ON or anything in your pockets. Pull the tape measure snugly -- not cinchingly tight, just snugly.
Next, place the paper tape measure right below the waist measurement to measure your High Hip. Pull the paper tape measure snugly. There should be a 2"-3" difference between your waist and hip measurements. For example, if your waist measurement is 38", then the normal high hip measurement will be 40"-41". Naturally, this varies between people. The gun belt is made to the High Hip measurement. The proper position to wear a western gunbelt is shown in the illustrations.
HOLSTERS: Carefully measure the barrel length. Revolvers are measured from the front face of the cylinder to the end of the barrel. Automatics are measured from the front face of the bolt to the end of the barrel.

Returns will only be accepted for shipping damage or manufacturing defects. Gun belts and holsters may take as long as 6 to 8 weeks to manufacture to your specific requirements: these orders are hand-made and hand-tooled, one-by-one, by our skilled leathersmiths, using traditional methods.
